The Association of Asian Social Science Research Councils (AASSREC) is pleased to welcome the Nepal Academy to its roster of members starting this 2025.
Nepal Academy, established in 1957 as the Nepal Academy of Literature and Art and later renamed Royal Nepal Academy in 1974 before adopting its current name in 2007, is Nepal’s premier national institution dedicated to promoting the country’s languages, literature, culture, social sciences, and philosophy.
It aims to foster rigorous scholarly and creative output by supporting original research and publication; to honor and recognize scholars and artists through awards and distinctions; to promote intellectual growth on both national and international stages by encouraging creative thinking and public engagement; and to maintain strong collaborations with global academies through bilateral and multilateral academic activities.
AASSREC membership is open to national social science research councils, academies, and institutes committed to the promotion of regional cooperation in the field of social sciences among Asia-Pacific countries. Organizations interested in joining AASSREC may contact the Secretariat at info@aassrec.org.
