The Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and the Philippine Economic Society (PES) will be hosting the 20th Conference of the East Asian Economic Association (EAEA) on 8-9 November 2025 at the Makati Shangri-La, Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Themed “Navigating Economic Transition, Inclusion, Innovation, and Resilience in Asia,” the conference will gather economists, policymakers, academics, and development practitioners who will explore the pressing economic challenges and opportunities shaping Asia’s future. With rapid technological advancements, shifting global trade dynamics, and evolving socio-economic structures, the region faces complex transitions that require innovative solutions and inclusive policies. Moreover, the conference will provide a platform for rigorous discussions on structural transformation, inequality and social protection, technological change, and strategies for economic resilience in an increasingly uncertain global landscape.
The Program Committee is now issuing a call for papers related to the conference theme and on a wide range of economic issues. EAEA considers all academic papers that are applied, empirical and policy-relevant in nature and related to Asia. Theory papers that are relevant to the theme of the conference and can develop applied research will also be considered. Pure theory papers will not be considered.
