Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences

York University, Toronto May 27 – June 2

The Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, the national voice for the humanities and social sciences in Canada will host one of the largest academic gatherings in the world at York University in Toronto from 27 May – 2 June 2023, both in-person and online.

Congress 2023 is open to all members of the community, and will feature a thought-provoking mix of panels, presentations, speakers, workshops and a multitude of open events addressing issues of social and racial injustice and other pressing challenges for Canada and the world.

Under this year’s theme “Reckonings and Re-Imaginings”, they will honour Black and Indigenous knowledges and cultures, and centre the diverse voices and ideas of scholars, graduate students, policymakers and community members in vital conversations about the most pressing issues facing our world.
